Our First Impact Report
Impact Journey: How Lieberman Textiles Takes Concrete Action
For more than 100 years, Lieberman Textiles has supported hospitality businesses across North America. Delivering comfort, quality, and dependable service has always been at the heart of our mission.
Today, that role goes further, and it also requires us to challenge ourselves.
We know our impact journey isn’t perfect. Some practices are well established, others are still being built, and many issues remain complex to address in an industry like ours. But we believe that being a responsible hospitality partner starts with the honesty to ask the right questions about how we operate, the decisions we make, and the impact we have, and to keep improving, step by step.
A Real-World Impact Journey
At Lieberman Textiles, sustainability isn’t an abstract concept or a passing trend. It’s a concrete, evolving approach, built day by day with our teams, partners, and clients.
Since 2024, we have been working toward B Corp certification, an international recognition that assesses companies based on social, environmental, and governance performance.
In 2026, after several months of work, we officially submitted our assessment.
This rigorous process pushes us to go further by helping us:
- structure what we sometimes did intuitively;
- measure our impacts more consistently;
- clearly identify what we do well and what we need to improve.
Our ambition is clear: to become a Canadian leader in responsible hospitality textiles, without ever losing sight of our operational realities.

Our Environmental Impact
Products Designed for Health and Durability
We prioritize products sourced from OEKO-TEX® certified suppliers, ensuring they are free from harmful substances for human health and the environment.
We are also working to further structure our requirements with our partners to ensure greater consistency across our supply chain.
In numbers: More than 40% of the products we purchase are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, an internationally recognized assurance that they’re tested for harmful substances and meet strict safety standards.
Goal: Maintain or increase the percentage of OEKO-TEX®–certified products in our portfolio.
Lieberman Textiles is also a preferred partner of Green Key, an internationally recognized certification program that helps hospitality businesses improve their environmental practices. This collaboration enables us to align our product offering with the sustainability standards expected by certified establishments committed to responsible operations.
Giving Textiles a Second Life
Because a product should never end its life unnecessarily, we have implemented practices for donating and repurposing sheets, towels, and bedding.
These textiles are donated to community organizations and local welcoming initiatives.
At the same time, we are actively working together, with our clients, on more responsible ways to manage end-of-cycle textiles, with the goal of extending their lifespan or identifying recovery and reuse solutions.
Our goal is simple: to ensure as few textiles as possible are left unused or discarded without a responsible option.
More Responsible Logistics Choices
Our purchasing is consolidated and planned to reduce urgent shipments and minimize air freight.
In the vast majority of cases, ocean freight is prioritized, and we work with our partners to optimize shipping routes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions linked to transportation.
With that same commitment to responsibility, we have also implemented a supplier code of conduct outlining our expectations regarding ethical practices, working conditions, transparency, and environmental respect.
In numbers: Our new Code of Conduct has been shared with our current suppliers.
Goal: Send our Code of Conduct to 100% of new suppliers.
Our Social Impact
A Committed, Loyal Team
At Lieberman Textiles, the stability and loyalty of our team is a great source of pride. Several colleagues have been with us for more than 40 years. This continuity reflects a strong sense of belonging and mutual commitment.
To support this culture and adapt it to today’s realities, we made HR one of our key priorities in 2025, including implementing:
- additional measures to improve health and safety at work, both in the office and in the warehouse;
- a clear, structured onboarding process for every new employee;
- improvements to our annual evaluation process and manager–employee check-ins;
- an employee satisfaction survey to better understand team needs.
In numbers: In 2025, we launched our first employee survey and achieved an 83% employee satisfaction rate.
Goal: Send the survey at least twice per year and continuously improve this score.

Workspaces Designed for Well-Being
One of our major initiatives was undoubtedly our move into our new offices in Mont-Royal.
This change went far beyond a simple address. We wanted to create a workplace that reflects who we are more open, more human, and better aligned with how our teams collaborate every day.
Designed from the start to encourage collaboration, comfort, and energy efficiency, these new spaces mark an important step in Lieberman Textiles’ evolution. They allow us to work differently, come together more easily, and support the well-being of our entire team.
In that same spirit of building an inclusive environment that responds to real needs, we also introduced a free offering of Iris & Arlo menstrual products in our workplace. This initiative helps foster a more equitable environment where essential needs are recognized and normalized without discomfort or barriers.

Supporting the Communities Around Us
Through donations of bedding, towels, and other essential textiles, Lieberman Textiles supports organizations that help women, children, and communities in need guided by inclusion, welcome, and human dignity. These products, originally designed for hospitality settings, are given a second life in contexts where comfort and safety are essential.
We are proud to collaborate with these organizations:
- Maison Véro & Louis
- La rue des femmes
- Mission bon accueil
- Centre des femmes de conviction de Montréal
- La maison Marguerite
- Engage and Change
- Collaboration Santé Internationale
In numbers: This was a record year, with product donations valued at $125,000.
Goal: Because donation value was exceptionally high due to our move, maintaining that pace is not realistic. However, next year we still commit to donating the majority of our unused products to organizations supporting populations in need.
Beyond product donations, Lieberman Textiles also gets involved on the ground. In collaboration with Collectif Bienvenue and Boite Pac, our team took part in a volunteer activity to prepare kits aimed at improving the living environment of newcomers.
In numbers: 6 employees contributed a total of 12 volunteer hours during paid work time.
Goal: Organize a second volunteer event with Collectif Bienvenue to double the number of volunteer hours completed.

Our Governance
Like many growing family businesses, some of our practices long relied on experience and intuition. Today, we are choosing to further structure our governance to ensure the long-term sustainability of our commitments.
In this context, we created a B Corp committee made up of members from different teams, playing an active role in tracking and supporting our impact journey. This committee has a direct link to leadership, enabling regular updates on progress, performance indicators, and learnings tied to the B Corp process and helping inform the company’s strategic decisions.
Our current B Corp journey is also leading us to:
- formalize our mission, vision, and values;
- clarify roles and decision-making processes;
- improve internal information sharing;
- integrate social and environmental impact into our strategic decisions.

What’s Next?
Our impact journey is ongoing.
Some initiatives are already well established, others are still in development, and several workstreams require deeper effort especially around emissions measurement, surplus management, and collaboration with international suppliers.
We see this first report as a starting point one that will evolve as our journey progresses and as we learn alongside our stakeholders.
We move forward with humility, transparency, and commitment convinced that comfort should never come at the expense of people or the planet.
